DO YOU HAVE BEGINNER CLASSES?
Our classes are mixed level, however Wednesdays and are geared primarily towards new and beginner grade students.
DO YOU HAVE CLASSES FOR CHILDREN?
Our classes are for mixed ages. Our minimum age recommendation is 8. However, much is down to your childs concentration, willingness to learn a martial art and disipline in a learning environment. Family groups are most welcome.
CAN I WATCH A CLASS BEFORE JOINING?
Absolutely.
DO I HAVE TO BOOK OR REGISTER?
No. Just come along!
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO THE CLASS?
Loose fitting clothes, a bottle of water, an open mind, a big smile and good vibes. Uniforms are to be worn when training regularly.
WHAT DO I WEAR ON MY FEET?
Bare foot or white plimsoles. Please, don't wear socks on their own.
I AM DIABETIC. CAN I DO CAPOEIRA?
Yes. Be sure you advise your instructor at the beginning of the lesson of any special needs.
CAN DISABLED PEOPLE PLAY CAPOEIRA?
Capoeira is a physical sport. It is very open to any who wish to get involved. There are many people in Brazil that play Capoeira with missing and damaged limbs.
DO I NEED TO LEARN PORTUGUESE TO DO CAPOEIRA?
You will naturally pick up basics of Portuguese as you learn Capoeira, but learning is not forced.
HOW MANY CLASSES CAN I ATTEND PER WEEK?
As many as you like
WILL CAPOEIRA HELP ME LOSE WIEGHT?
Capoeira is a physically demanding sport and a wonderful cardiovascular work out. The more you train the more fat you will burn and muscle you will gain. However this is all down to your body's natural shape and your diet.
DO I NEED TO BE A MEMBER TO COME AND LEARN CAPOEIRA WITH YOU?
No, but membership is required after your first month of regular training. Your membership will include insurance which is essential for safe martial arts practice.
